Girls Career Workshop
The mission of Girls Career Workshop is to educate underserved New York City girls about career and educational opportunities, inspire them to envision ambitious goals, and help them map practical strategies to reach those goals. We are committed to working with students who, because of various social and economic disadvantages, have very limited exposure to the professional opportunities available.

Thank you so much for helping not just me but all the girls in the Girls Career Workshop, I’m sure they are thankful as well. GCW Student Participant
Girls Career Workshop exposes girls to a diverse set of positive role models through industry-specific, interactive workshops in an effort to combat the societal pressures limiting the range of choices that girls believe are open to them. We place special emphasis on practical skills like job searching, interviewing, and researching colleges and financial aid. In addition, we address topics such as the unique challenges women face in the workplace, issues surrounding race and class, and even the effect the current economy is having on women.
Girls Career Workshop addresses skills and discussion topics on which the typical high school curricula does not focus as intensely and yet they are essential learning blocks from which these young women can build – and attain - their educational and professional goals.
