About Girls Career Workshop
GCW started as a pilot program in 2001. Since then, GCW has served about 200 high school girls and engaged more than 140 professional women as volunteers.
The young women who participate in our program are motivated and enthusiastic individuals, eager to succeed in their lives. Far too often, however, these young women limit their career aspirations to that which they’ve learned about from television and other mass media. Most don’t have the resources or the opportunities to gain a realistic understanding of the vast educational and career options that are available to them. The girls in the program are typically the first in their families to attend college or to graduate high school.

I think this program will better me as a woman and a career oriented person. GCW Student Participant
Girls Career Workshop helps to make higher education and a professional career a reality for these students by providing them with the tools necessary to achieve their goals. Our hope is that girls will achieve economic independence, make informed decisions, and take control over the direction of their lives. Students enrolled in our program also receive two course credits upon completing all requirements associated with the Girls Career Workshop.
